Summary

Analyzes credit worthiness and credit risk of commercial borrowers, including review of financial statements and cash flow analysis. Monitors the quality of various commercial loans and assists in the underwriting and processing of commercial credits.

Reports To: AVP Credit Administration Manager 
FLSA Status: Exempt
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
Department Functions 
Gather and analyze loan application financial data to evaluate risk and assess creditworthiness of individuals, companies, and organizations:
Utilize software to spread and analyze business financial statements and tax returns.
Analyze personal financial statements, credit reports, and tax returns on individuals or guarantors in order to determine repayment capacity.
•  Analyze business, industry and/or real estate market trends.
• Assess and mitigate risk on loan transactions.
Prepare standard and complex loan approval packages, including analyzing and assessing a Borrower’s creditworthiness and capacity for repayment to be presented for approval.
Prepare periodic reviews as necessary on existing loan relationships.
Manage the approved appraiser list, track appraisal orders, and review appraisals
Participate in the preparation of various reports on a periodic basis.
Occasionally participate in client calls with Loan Officers
Maintain communication with Loan Production Staff during loan underwriting and approval process.
Exhibit an understanding of and ensure compliance with internal Loan and Regulatory Policies.
Maintains up-to-date, well-organized documentation and files.  
Assist in the monitoring of the status of financial documents to be submitted by existing commercial borrowers

Ability to interact (in person, phone, and electronic communication) with the public and internal personnel well to deal effectively with their questions or problems
Knows the Bank’s products and services thoroughly and seeks out opportunities to explain, promote, or sell products/services.

Client confidentiality: never reveal or divulge client information to anyone outside of the Bank.
Must have effective project management skills with the ability to multi-task under pressure, prioritize assignments, and work in a fast-paced environment.  
 
QUALIFICATIONS  
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
Four-year college degree in business, accounting, economics, or finance, or equivalent banking industry experience, required. Previous experience as a credit analyst or loan officer preferred.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 
Must possess a knowledgeable background of the bank’s commercial lending procedures and policies.

Position demands a person with a pleasant personality with an above average knowledge of fundamental accounting principles.
Must have basic skills in operating a computer and Microsoft Office products. 
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
Ability to speak in a clear and understandable manner and write legibly.  
Ability to answer telephones and greet public in a friendly and courteous manner.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
