The Commercial Real Estate Lender is responsible for independently sourcing, underwriting, structuring, and managing commercial real estate loan transactions. This role involves working closely with senior lenders to analyze potential loan opportunities, assess risk, and ensure compliance with bank policies and regulations. The individual will play a key role in business development efforts, portfolio management, and driving the bank’s commercial real estate lending growth strategy.

Responsibilities:
• Source and develop new commercial real estate lending opportunities, building a strong pipeline of qualified borrowers.
• Lead client meetings and manage borrower relationships throughout the loan lifecycle, from origination to closing and ongoing monitoring.
• Independently analyze and assess the financial condition of prospective and existing borrowers, including reviewing financial statements, rent rolls, tax returns, and pro forma models.
• Conduct thorough property and market-level due diligence to assess the feasibility and risk profile of commercial real estate projects.
• Prepare detailed loan proposals and credit memoranda for presentation to senior management and loan committees.
• Structure loan terms that align with both borrower needs and the bank’s risk tolerance.
• Oversee the loan closing process, including coordination with legal counsel, title companies, and third-party vendors.
• Monitor loan portfolio performance, including financial covenant compliance, property inspections, and risk assessments.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory and internal lending guidelines.
• Maintain strong relationships with borrowers, brokers, developers, and industry professionals to generate ongoing business and referral opportunities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, business administration, or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CCIM, MBA) preferred.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in commercial real estate lending, underwriting, or related credit functions.
• Demonstrated ability to independently underwrite and structure CRE loans.
• Strong credit analysis and financial modeling skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CRE underwriting software is a plus.
• Deep understanding of commercial real estate markets, property types, and lending practices.
• Proven ability to manage a portfolio and prioritize competing demands.
