Frequently Asked Questions
If I turn off my card, will transactions I made that have not been posted yet (pending transactions) be blocked?
No. Pending transactions will still be processed if you turn off your card.
If I know that I will have a large purchase that exceeds my card limit, can I use Debit Card Controls to increase the limit on my card for that purchase?
No. If you are planning to put a large purchase on your card that exceeds the daily card limit established by BCT, please contact your local branch or our Client Card Center for a temporary limit increase.
How will I receive alerts?
Alerts are available by email, text, and mobile push notifications. You can change your delivery method by adding or removing your email or phone in the Alerts section of Debit Card Controls. Push alerts can be enabled within your mobile device notification settings.
Will alerts be sent immediately after each transaction?
Alerts should be sent within a few seconds of each transaction.
If I lose my card, can I request a new one with Debit Card Controls?
You will not be able to request a new card with Debit Card Controls. However, you may request a new card using Online and Mobile Banking secure messaging, by visiting a branch, or by contacting our Client Care Center. Note that you can receive a new card instantly when you visit a BCT branch.
Will the travel notice I set up be effective immediately?
No. Travel notices will be processed within two business days of submittal.
Can I use the Travel Notice feature for planned travel to international countries?
Yes. International Travel Notices will be processed the same as domestic travel, within two business days of submittal.
